It started 2 weeks ago when my wife and Zie accompanied me in waiting for a bus bound to Manila. After I arrived at my uncles house, Hana texted me saying that Zie is getting dizzy when they went home. At first they suspect that all of our neighbors are the one who cause this thing to happen. In Filipino culture we have this term “balis” as we call it in tagalog. According from our ancestors “balis” occurs when someone greeted a kid or a normal person unexpectedly and when the person got immediately sick for no apparent reason it is called “balis”. To cure the sickness they have to put a saliva on the victims belly or legs or foot. So my wife decided to talked to all of our neighbors who greeted Zie to be cured. (sounds yuckie?? better prepare alcohol when you gets home.. )
Also just to be safe he was also brought to an “Albularyo” to be fully cured. “Albularyo is what we called a Non-Traditional or Unconventional doctor. His way of curing people is by using herbal medicines and by saying a prayer to a sick person. Another week had past it seems like he’s alright but suddenly 2 days ago Zie felt being dizzy and that’s the time my wife and parents decided to bring him to his Pediatrician.
So, our pedia asked for his daily routines, what food he eats etc, my wife told her that our kid is into digital technology like computers and gaming consoles. I would say Zie is a 3 and half year old tech geek because at age 2 he knew how to used computers and Nintendo DS. Our pedia thinks that more likely that is the one that cause Zies dizziness so she ordered to stop playing this digital machines for a month to observe Zies conditions. I also asked my wife to let Zie sleep early because in the last couple of weeks he’s been sleeping very late. Right now he’s eating vegetables and fruits to get the nourishments he needs.
If you’re on his situation, you might think that life will be boring since you’ll have to stay away from computers right? But fortunately for him he found an alternative to his activities. And here it is..
His 2.5M pad. created by my wife. Zie plays, sleep and eats on that house. It is complete with basketball rings, white boards and other cool stuff , he also have a calculator and acts as a crew on a fastfood chain. :0
