A reaction to the Mojave Experiment. For all of you who don’t know what is the Mojave Experiment let me just explain to you what it is, It is a special project by Microsoft to test Windows Vista, and here’s how it goes, they gather around a hundred people who haven’t used Windows Vista, they informed those people that they are going to test the next generation of Windows Codename ” Mojave”. They asked the participants to rate the Operating System from 0 -10.
What they’ve gathered is a positive results and after the test they revealed that the OS that they used is actually Windows Vista. For all we know Windows Vista didn’t get definitive results from the start. So Microsoft tried to have this experiment to get a reaction on how Windows Vista performs.
When Windows 98 was released, I owned a 166MHZ MMX computer with 16MB of RAM and runs with Windows 95. Since there is a new operating system I was eager to install it with my computer. After 3 days of using the new OS, I decided to rollback my computer to Windows 95 because it makes my system unstable and very slow. Same as Windows XP when it was first released, I owned a Pentium 3 Computer with 128MB of RAM the experience was pretty much the same. Not until I got a 1GHz system, then I appreciated the power of Windows XP.
What is happening right now with Windows Vista I believed was the same with my experienced with the previous Windows OS. If a computer user has a system under 2GHz of processor, A RAM under 1GB and a video card under 512MB you would get a crappy Windows Vista. On the Mojave Project they used an HP DV2000 system that can run at least 2GHz of processing power and above 2GB of RAM on top of that maybe they also used at least 1GB of video card.
For me I’ll give it a few years more to have a stable Windows Vista, and my system is waiting for that to happen. The consumer reactions play a big role in developing a perfect operating system, so keep that reactions coming. When Windows XP was first launced it encounters so many incompatibility issues and 3 years later, it is a well loved operating system by the consumers.
